I'm hoping to find the last resting place of Hugh Quinn 6804 Northumberland Fusiliers. I am thinking because he died of his injuries in hospital there might be a chance that he might have a marked grave. Can anyone help me with this or give me a direction to research?

Hello

According to Steve Watt's book "In Memorium" a Lt HG Quinn of the Northumberland Fusiliers was Killed in Action at Klerksdorp, nr Elandslaagte and is interred in the Klerksdorp Cemetery and has a granite headstone and his name appears on a regimental monument at the same site.

Unfortunately I am in the Eastern Transvaal, miles away from Klerksdorp so perhaps another member could assist with a photo, if this is your man

Hello again

Please ignore previous posting, your man is KIA at Dwashoek and has no known place of internment listed

Hello Jon

Yes that's my great grandfather that was killed at Dwashoek ( we think it is spelled Dwarshoek). Thanks for checking Steve Watt's book for me. I am thinking, because he died from his injuries in hospital, from what information I have gathered, there might be a record somewhere. Maybe a death certificate.
