I was contacted by the proprietor of this hotel asking if there was any information about the role of this establishment as a hospital facility during the Boer War.

Mooi River appears frequently in the rolls of honour.

Has anyone come across this hotel in their reading?

There was a hospital in Estcourt, which is not far from Willow Grange. The men who died there are commemorated in the Estcourt Garden of Remembrance, and it is a long list. Perhaps the Estcourt facility farmed out patients to other suitable establishments nearby for recuperation?
