Hi, I am a collector of miniature medals and had this group of 7 medals in my collection for some time. Can anyone help me attribute them please? I thought they may be unique, but it's proving difficult to track down the recipient.
1) CBE (1st Type Military)
2) DSO (GV)
3) Queens South Africa Medal + 4 Clasps (Driefontien, Paardeberg, Relief of Kimberley, Cape Colony)
4) Kings South Africa Medal + 1 Clasps (South Africa 1901)
5) Mons Star + Clasp (5th Aug-22 Nov 1914)
6) British War Medal
7) Allied Victory Medal + Mention in Dispatches Oak Leaf

Pic attached. Thanks

Musicaldirector,

These tasks can be quite challenging. The single clasp KSA, if correct, could help. However the QSA clasps are in the wrong order and an impossible combination so I am not sure how much reliance can be placed on them.

The RoK, Paar and Drief combination was gained by some regiments eg Oxfordshire LI, West Riding Regiment, Essex Regiment, East Kent Regiment, Gloucester Regiment and the cavalry including the 10th Hussars, 14th Hussars and others so I would probably start with a list of the regiment with this combination, identify the officers and cross check with the DSO register for the Great War. Boer War officers are most likely to have served in the Great War but there is also the possibility of promotion from the ranks which would make the task not impossible but more difficult.

Good luck!

I've tried to verify miniature groups with rarer orders than the CBE, the last was a Portuguese order which I thought would be a cinch. There were two of this order awarded to officers who served in the war. However, the clasps on the QSA did not make any sense for either of the two recipients.
