I have a Boer War through to WWII group to A.S.W Brits - His Vorm B lists his battles as below. Can anyone assist with the correct or English names of these geographical sites?

Bainesvlei.
Wag n bietjie Pan.
Bosrandpan
Witkrans

They appear to be places around Kimberley , Southern FS.
There is a wag n bietjiepan south of Leeudooringstad

There are many Witkrans

Thanks Adrian

I had "sort of" worked out what the words represent but the fact that you were able to pinpoint them to a specific geographic location is of great assistance to me.

Brits was 12 years old when he joined the Bloemfontein Commando (about whom remarkably little seems to have been written) - Bainsvlei I know to be just on the outskirts of Bloemfontein (en route to Kimberley) so it all fits.

Regards

Rory
