Hi All,
I am new to the forum, so please excuse my ignorance if this post is in the wrong section. I recently purchased a QSA to a Lieut. R.T. Cresswell of the Midland Mounted Rifles. I can find no trace of him except there was an R T Cresswell in the Uitenhage Town Guard(medal roll). I have no access to the medal roll for the MMR(WO100/259). Can anyone tell me if there are any other records that might shed light on my guy ?

I had my eye on this one and then, just as I was about to push the send button, it was gone.

Your man died in Kirkwood, just outside Uitenhage in South Africa on 6 January 1945. He also served in the Uitenhage Town Guard and, from my records, in the Port Elizabeth TG as well.

Much appreciated Rory. I don't think I've ever owned a medal with such little scope for research, but QSA's to officers don't appear too often at a reasonable price. Nothing on him on ancestry so I might try fold3.
