Right father - mother was Grace. Not sure what St Johns Lancs amounts to - the cemetery is near St John's Earlestown, which might fit. Otherwise it looks as if it might be our man. Presumably, unless he died en route to South Africa, he wouldn't be classed as war dead as far as the IWM are concerned.
