Hi All,

I am in search for more information regarding the IY Field Hospital regiment.
Were they attached to the IY themselves or to the RAMC field hospitals, as the RAMC officer signed off on the medal roll?
Did they have a specific headquater or did they move with the main columns?

Any information or literature references will be much appreciated.

Jancodk,

The book Imperial Yeomanry Hospitals, volume I, edited by Lady Howe could be a good starting point:

Thank you David!

An awesome amount of information in those files.

I'm trying to piece together some information on a Pte. W. Bloomfield, QSA medal correctly impressd IMP. YEO. Field Hosp. as per WO 100-139 with CC/OFS/TVL bars. The medal also have the '01 & '02 bars present, but they vere obviously added at a later stage and I still need to find confirmation of his qualification for them.

With the QSA is also a CGHGSM with Basutoland bar to a Pte. W.O. Bloomfield who served in D.E.O.V.R., I'm attempting to establish if this is the same indeviduel or a family member.

I can see his state clasps on the roll but not the date clasps. Men did receive for SA01 clasp but SA02 is much less common.

Perhaps the documentation will give more details on their service in 1901 and 1902.

A man called William Bloomfield did enlist in the IY, 7 January 1902.
