Can a helpful soul point me in the direction of where the letters of Col A W Thorneycroft are published? In a letter to his brother from Spearman’s Camp 3 Feb 1900, he wrote: “The attack on Spion Kop should have been part of a general plan of attack and directly it was known that we had carried the crest at 4 am (and it was known at once) the hill to N.E. of our position should have been carried at the point of the bayonet..."
many thanks!
Rob

Good Morning Rob......

Could they be included in the book:

ANGELS ON HORSEBACK, THE THORNYCROFT MOUNTED INFANTRY, Brig-Gen. F.P. Crozier CB CMG DSO, Johnathan Cape Press, 1932

Mike, I am very grateful for the suggestion. I know you have a copy, as you mentioned it a while ago - could you spare some time to check whether that letter appears?
Even a facsimile edition of Angels on Horseback costs an arm and a leg!
Thanks in anticipation
Rob
