I need to point out although I have been promoted to a "Senior Member" I have only been researching the Boer War for six months and any of my utterances come with a health warning based on my ignorance of certain matters including a full understanding of the significance of the clasps attached to QSA medals. However......

If you click on the link DJB provided earlier in this conversation it will tell you your Great Uncle served with the Kaffrarian Rifles from 8th February 1901 to 12th August 1901.

Then if you click on "Unit Information" on the Main Menu followed by "South African Units" and enter "Kaffrarian" in the search box you will get to a write-up on what the KR's did in the Boer War. Hopefully with the above dates you should be able to get some idea of what your Great Uncle was up to during his time with the KRs.
