Good Morning Everyone......

I picked up the above named QSA yesterday and are having trouble finding anything on him...... Are there any Irish collectors out there that can give me a boost???? Thanks in advance......

He also has a His Majesties Army and Navy and Colonial Forces Veterans Association Medal in Bronze - Incorporated Canada 1901.....

Hello Mike
Nothing jumping out on your man Pte McIlroy unfortunately.
A medal roll only I'm afraid, 2nd Battalion Royal Irish Rifles.

Dave......

Thanks Dave...... It is more that I had before...... For some reason he removed the Rifles (You can see it faintly) and left the Royal Irish...... You would think that if he was a Republican he would have taken off the Royal......

Thanks Again......

This may be useful to you....a photo of half D coy of the 2nd Battalion Royal Irish Rifles. It shows a McIlroy (the only one in the regimental photos) standing at the back...highly likely its your man. The photo was taken in India in Feb 1897. I think a serial no of 4434 would have enlisted sometime late 1894 to early 1895 so that fits with a photo taken in 1897.
