Does anyone have a copy or know of a free to download version of the above? I'm looking for Vol IV where it pertains to the 3rd Battalion.

Regards

Rory

I obtained my reprint copy of The Annals of the KRRC Vol. IV from the N@MP some time ago. Found it quite useful.

Hi Rory,

This is not the book you are looking for, but rather a different book you may find useful entitled A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE KING’S ROYAL RIFLE CORPS which I found here: www.gutenberg.org/files/57761/57761-h/57761-h.htm#Page_40

There is a section on the Boer War at pages 40-50.

I hope this helps.

Regards

Ian

Yes thanks Ian - my first port of call is always the Internet Archive - as the title says - it's a Brief History indeed.

The King’s Royal Rifle Corps Chronicle, 1908, has an eleven page article with map titled “The Capture of the Twin Peaks at Spion Kop by 3rd Battalion King’s Royal Rifles”, by Captain H. Wake.

This might be useful if you are researching the Tugela opperations.

If you require scans of this, let me know.

Neville

That would be wonderful thanks Neville. I'll PM you my e-mail address. My chap, Bugler W. Hinds of the 3rd Bn. KRRC was WIA at Colenso on either the 17th or the 19th February 1900 in the run in to Ladysmith. He was most likely at Spioenkop as well.
