Hello everyone,

Does anyone know if enrolment or attestation papers exist for the Cape Garrison Artillery? I have looked in the National Archives ctaalogue but cannot find them listed.

There is nothing in the UK Archives for the CGA.

If they are anywhere, I would guess at the Castle Museum, Cape Town.

Try Adrian Ellard on [email protected] - if there are any papers to be had, he will have them. He is also relatively inexpensive. Mind you, not many have survived.

Some time ago, and subsequent to a post on a chap who served in BH/CGA, it came up that Dewald Nel had found a box of CGA attestation papers in the SANDF archives in Pretoria. Look Dewald up in the strip above titled "contacts".
