Good afternoon all

I have just acquired the single clasp QSA awarded to the above named soldier who died of disease at Ladysmith on
the 16th of March 1900.
Unfortunately (for me) his service papers do not appear to have survived but from the Soldiers Effects record I believe
I have identified potential siblings and from that possibly found the 'right' man on Ancestry.
My question is this:
is it possible from his regimental number - 4830 - to establish an approximate date of enlistment?
It wouldn't take me a massive distance further on but would be at least one more detail to add to his story.

Of course if anyone has any personal knowledge of this soldier then I would be very grateful indeed to hear of it.
