Im currently doing some reseach on Civil Surgeons and struggling with the identities of 3 who were at the Siege of Ladysmith
G G Crean
G F Hawarden
F A Hunter
If anyone can give any details such as forenames or dates qualification Id be extremely grateful

I guess your initials are incorrect.
Presumably he was Samuel Angier Hawarden.

Thanks I think the initials are correct as per the medal rolls WO100/226/165 so wonder if he might be someone different but related The initials on the QSA rolls seem rather random at times! Thanks again Simon

Many thanks Thats extremely useful. I have pinned down a number in this list so clearly some would have been claimed. It is a help to have a list like this to check I have deciphered the initials on the medal roll correctly Thanks again Simon
