Hi all,

I came across a medal set for a family spanning multiple wars to include the Boer war. Additionally the father was a POW on St Helena. I realize that medal worth is subjective, but I am curious how rare it is to come across a medal set from a Boer war POW.

Thank you
Marc

Very common. Considering that there were thousands of Boer POW's - incarcerated in India, St, Helena, Bermuda and even in Portugal. Although this is not the place to discuss value, the fact that a man was POW does add a little bit to the attraction. Of course, if he was POW from e.g. Paardeberg in February 1900 then less so as he spent more time in the cage than out in the field fighting.
