Algernon Hanbury-Tracy was the Intelligence Officer and Press Censor during the siege. He kelp a daybook and there is other correspondence that is cited in the Mafeking literature. The papers were part of the late Richard H. Nicholson Collection, Whitchurch, Hants.

I have been unable to identify the present location of these papers and wonder if any Forum members have seen mention of them?

Many thanks
David

Hi David
I believe that this book on BP on page 588-591 has the reference to the whereabouts of the day book.
Unfortunately I don’t have the book.
Regards
Adrian

Many thanks, Adrian. I will check that. I believe there are some references to the "R H Nicholson' collection in the footnotes so hopefully there will be a location too.
