G'day all, first time poster here with a question my grandfather.

My grandad who later fought in both world wars also went to the Boer war I am led to believe.
I tried a name search and a name came up that I'm not sure was entered correctly. I'm open to being corrected.

I searched for Surname Travers, Other names George Maurice.

The search found him but it came up as Surname Maurice, Other names George Travers.

Am I missing something or is this a totally different person. From what I was told he served in A Div SAC and is entitled to the QSA.
However..if the search name is correct he was also in the 106th 4th Bn.

Please...any clues to where I can validate this info or not.

Cheers
Garry Travers

Garry,

The medal roll pages for your Grandfather have him as Travers.G.M

On Roll WO100/ 271 Page 155 his entry is as follows:

479 Travers G.M entilted to the QSA with the Cape Colony, OFS and Transvaal clsps

On the Supplementry Roll WO 100/ 271 page 264 entitled to the SA 1901 and SA 1902 clasps

I would then say that his name has been entered incorrectly!!

Cheers
