Hi David,

Are the roll books to Australian units at the UK Archives? If so are there plans to copy them onto the website?

Cheers,

Jim

Morning Jim,

No, the rolls for Australian units are not in the UK but I do plan to add the names of Australian soldiers to my site. I have a few so far but not a complete listing.

Kind regards
David

Hi David,

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping the roll books were in the UK as they definately have some useful information contained as we all have seen on the colonial roll books on this site. The Attestation Papers for the pre federation units are held in the UK unfortunately.

Regards,

Jim

Do you mean the QSA medal rolls for Australians? I am sure they are on Ancestry. Does that not mean they are in the UK? David would know.

Service paers for Australian units are held by The National Archives of Australia, you won't find them at Kew!

All of WO100, including the QSA/KSA rolls, are to be found at the National Archives Kew and they are available on line.
