Hi all,

I'm looking for the total number of Old Etonians who fought in the Boer War.

Does anyone have a copy of 'Old Etonians who fought in the South African War 1899-1902', published in 1908 and reprinted by Roberts in the 1990s?

Regards,

Justin

Hello Justin,
I think I would speak to Alexandra Churchill if I were you, she is into that sort of thing, though, with her, it tends to be more Great War, she has, however, spent a great deal of time at Eton and very many of the old boys she has researched will have fought in the Anglo Boer War.

Hope you have been in "training"
Kind regards Frank

Hello Justin,
You can just send her a tweet, she is on twitter and facebook, or [email protected] I think I do have her phone number somewhere, I'll have to have a look.
With Eton though, they do have a very big library, I am sure you won't be the first with this question, so I think I would actually contact them directly too if I were you.
The dead are very easy to research, but, the others are a differant story, I'm sure if you contact Eton there will be someone on hand to help you.
Regards Frank

I'm resurrecting a very old topic here, but just in case Justin is still looking for an answer to his original question, the number of Old Etonians who served in South Africa was 1,470
