This postcard shows two men from the Natal Medical Corps with their wagon and horses. A flag is also depicted. Does anyone recognise this?

No idea David but it's a stunning postcard.

The medal roll shows only 60 men to the Natal Volunteer Medical Corps of whom at least 24 were Officers (including my chap Capt. Buntine) that said I wonder who these two chaps are - they would be part of the remaining 36.

I know it's impossible but the flag does look Lebanese with the Cedar tree in the centre ;)

Rory,

The postcard would have been hand coloured so I wonder if they did not know what the flag was like so they used their imagination? They were probably not expecting to be quizzed on the colour scheme 100 years later!

Best wishes

David

I would have expected the NVMC to fly a Red Cross flag on their ambulance, but the photo does indeed suggest something very different. I wonder if the colourist made up the red additions to an otherwise largely white flag?

Dear Friends,
Although this has nothing to do with the subject,
there were a few common key words, that I was trying to assist in identifying possibly the postcard.
Keywords in post: flag, Lebanon (with a smiley face), Medical, Corps,

I was unsure what the Meerut division had in the Boer war, but they did have involvement in Lebanon in the First World War
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7th_(Meerut)_Division

There is an old picture from the Meerut Division:
military.wikia.com/wiki/Pursuit_to_Haritan
7th (Meerut) Division at Dog River/Nahr al-Kalb

A second website: royal navy and army medical services. - NCBI
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC235...rmedj08019-0089a.pdf
by WG Dickinson - ‎1907
First string: comprising Meerut and Lucknow Divisions: 3rd circle, comprising. Quetta, Mhow, and .
Second string: M. G. Pearson, Natal Medical Corps, did excellent work in the field

Also by chance if you look at the flag in the postcard, it seems to have that green streak both in the bottom, and in the top of the fold.
Perhaps it is a rectangular object? Not sure if that will help identify it.

Thank you.
