I seem to be getting a bit off the point now so I'll stop. Thank you for the prompt to trawl through my shipping archive.

Good luck with the new pages.

Good Morning Paul.....

I picked up this painting many years ago from an estate sale and in fact have done nothing with it other that verify what is on the label. The photos are of the artist (Boote) and his wife, I have no idea what the uniform is....

David,

I don't know if you've come across them but these are probably the two key references on this subject:-

Embarkations in Connection with the War in South Africa 2 vols + supplement (War Office) xxix + 166, xv + 158, and 16pps. (see Hackett pg 199).

Report on Demobilisation of the S. African Field Force from 1st June 1902 to 28th February 1903. (Headquarters Pretoria) 66pps (see Hackett pg 126).

Both are exceedingly rare. The demobilisation book is particularly fascinating and highly detailed.

I have this shot of the Victorian which shows its N0. nicely. I also have a few more exterior shots of the Victorian and several on board of it and the Winnifredian.

Paul, JW Nicholson,

I am seeking a picture of ship 78, the Winifridian for a separate enquiry. Could you post a picture if you have one please?

Thank you
David
