Hi all

Apologies if this is covered somewhere else, I did a search but couldn't find anything.

I am wondering if the passenger lists in Ancestry cover the troop movements for SA, or are they somewhere else?

Doug.

Doug,

I am not sure what is on Ancestry.

This site has a cop of Ken Hallock's shipping data taken from the information on newspapers.

Kind regards

Ancestry has all of the passenger lists leaving the UK, but does not seem to have any troop ships.

DOug,

The troop ships are listed here and often the officers are listed along with the numbers of NCOs and men.

What is it that you are seeking?

I was trying to find Arthur Baker, when he came over or if he was here already and when he joined up, assuming it was quite late, which makes me think he came over in March 1900? There is a minor of the same name came over on a civilian ship in 1896, but a bit young possibly.
