WO168/68 is actually the War Diary of the 55th Field Company Royal Engineers and covers their time in Norway from March to May 1940!

He appears on WO168/68 - Ancestry is missing this page and the names from it

The Register is up to date. :)

'Red Roses in the Veldt' only deals with the three regiments that formed the Queen's Lancashire Rgt (in 2000): East Lancs, South Lancs and Loyal North Lancs.

Perhaps the regiment is listed as the 'King's Own Royal (Lancaster) Regiment in 'Red Roses in the Veldt'. The Royal Lancaster Regiment suffered heavy casualties in the Spioenkop battle and their mass grave and memorial on this hill are shown below.

Looking at the roll at W100/168/68, that relates to the regiment but the surnames ending with R. Pages 37 onwards is where he should be and as you say, looks like a page is missing. Any chance you can take a screen shot and send it over?

Thanks.

Doug.

Great, thanks. I see what I was looking at now, it was the page number that Ancestry puts at the bottom of the page and not the actual page number!! You learn something every day, thanks goodness.

Doug.

Morning Doug - happy to help. If you are really into medal rolls you can download them for free from the National Archives.
