THE GEORGE ENGLISH COLLECTION OF RARE SOUTH AFRCAN AND BRITISH BADGES
This is the largest collection of such badges to come on to the market for auction in South Africa for the last fifty years. It was built up over 60 years by the late George English of Cape Town who passed away recently at the age of 84.
His extensive collection will be sold in two parts. Firstly the expensive items : the 50 Victorian and Edwardian Helmet Plates, plus pouch belt, sabretache badges and plaid brooches of South African Scottish units and other rare badges will be sold at Stephan Welz and Co 4th Floor, South Tower, Sandton City, Johannesburg by public auction on Tuesday 25th November 2014.
