Good Afternoon Everyone......

I have seen a number of these that have been for sale on ebay and a number of them have shown up in the Boer War section with a quotation from an article written on their history that states and I quote......

"Boer War in 1899

Some accounts go back to Britain's Boer War in 1899 that brought about the tradition of awarding coins."

I do not remember reading anything about these...... Have you seen anything ??????

I understand that they were started by the US Army during WW1 and had nothing to do with the Boer War........

Or are they confusing them with Tribute Medals or Medallions ?????
