Colin Walker tells us that George Dawson served as "Tpr. 393 of A Sqn., Protectorate Regt" and the DofM clasp was added to the roll of the 2/ILH.

Thanks David. Unfortunately I don't think the ribbons are original - they are too stiff and rough to the touch - just high quality repro that I've not seen before. I will get the opinion of the Sussex OMRS next week.

Polyester "melts" when heat from a flame is placed near, silk, certainly does not!

Sounds like a challenge!

The BWM & VM ribbon seem to burn while the QSA shrinks away, interesting.

The QSA ribbon will be polyester, but, the pair, certainly from the photograph, will be silk and original, if not to the actual medals themselves, certainly to the period in which they were issued.
