Good Morning To our English Members especially the ones living in the northern flooded areas.......

I was watching the news this morning and I wanted to send my best wishes and hope that the flooding has not done much if any damage.......

My thoughts and She Who Must Be Obeyed`s thoughts are with you.......

My English side of the family comes from Lancashire and I understand that they have been heavy hit......

Best wishes to you all......

My Pol Roger is still dry, it's about the only thing that is, I dare say that famous supernumerary SALH subaltern, Lieutenant WLS Churchill would certainly approve!

Lancaster was without power for a couple of days, before generators were brought in, and some areas near the River Lune suffered badly from flooding. The flat I was living in until February last year was, reportedly, knee-high in river water. Glad I moved! So it wasn't good here but we escaped lightly compared to some places, such as Carlisle.

No power for two days was an inconvenience but you just have to put up with it and be patient. Hair washing under a cold tap is not a nice experience though.

According to this morning's national weather forecast, the expected maximum temperatures for almost everywhere in South Africa are above 30C, and some places will be above 40C. People are praying for rain, but el Nino prevails.

Hello Brett,
The mood here is one of defiance, moreover, my wine remains dry! :)
I wish I could send you some rain, we have plenty of it,
Kind regards Frank
