I have been asked the following question......

There is a Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long Service Medal, Queen Victoria issue. The name, etc. on the edge reads: 'PRIVATE J.M. MORRIS. THE C.C.F.C'.

Any thoughts or insights on The C.C.F.C.. The owner is trying to get some beginning information so he can properly research the medal. Initially he asked if the CCFC stood for 'Company Canadian Forestry Corps', which is a valid abbreviation but for WW1 and not the Victorian era.

Any ideas, Indian, Ceylon, South Africa or Australia.....

I can only think of Cape Colonial Forces but that is incomplete and it is unlikely the CCF received any LS medals.

It is looking Canadian. Burman's site has this group:

Could CCFC be a later addition perhaps?
