Does anyone know of a book on the history of the Transvaal Staatsartillerie, in English of course, or of any possible articles written on the subject??????

I am unaware of a book , especially in English, but there are some articles which can be downloaded:

Scientia Militaria, South African Journal of Military Studies, Vol 6, Nr 2, 1976. scientiamilitaria.journals.ac.za

This is in Afrikaans, but has an English introduction and some lovely photos.

2. D J Haupt, 'Die Staatsartillerie van die Suid-Afrikaanse Republiek' (Unpublished MA Thesis, University of Pretoria, 1946) . In Afrikaans, have not seen it, but must be very interesting.

Hi Mike
I have a typed and badly roneoed copy of Vols 1 & 2 of the State Artillery Musters. It gives names and service dates, but is a pain in the nether regions to search for names : not alphabetical

Thinking that with that rank he may have been mentioned in the Regimental History, Books or articles on the unit......
