Whilst trawling the "Indian Who's Who" of 1938, on another project, I came across two entries that might be of interest. The first served the Imperial cause and the other claimed Burger status and was conscripted/enlisted in the Republican Forces.

The first is Jhunda Khan who claimed campaign service, amongst others, in the First & Second Boer Wars. Unfortunately he does not appear on the rolls for the Queen's South Africa Medal. No mention either on the Somaliland rolls but this may be an error of memory or transcription. A visit to 9 King's Street, Ladysmith, might prove profitable. An Afgan, IGS '54, IGS'95 & a QSA to an Indian who served in both Boer Wars would be a rare beast.

The second is Habib Motan who was a Burger and claims service with the Boers. Interesting and a fact that I had not previously considered.
