Good day

I an enquiring about Henry, my g.g. grandfather's nephew. He was orphaned at age 6, and along with his four siblings, dispersed to various children's homes in the UK.

He enlised at 19 years 7 months on 1 October 1896 in Woolwich in the Medical Staff Corps. No. 11318. R.A.M.C. from 1902.

His British Army WW1 pension record gives his full service record from 1 Oct 1896 to 2 May 1918 including his promotions and places of service.

It states that he served in South Africa from 22.10.99 to 2.5.02, 2 years 198 days. Campaigns including actions 1899 to 1902.

Also that he was awarded the South Africa Queens medal "Belmont" "Modder River" "Paardeberg" "Transvaal" and the South Africa Kings medal.

Does this website record all men who served in the Boer War? I did look around on this website mostly expecting to find his name mentioned when I use NAME SEARCH but possibly only people of note are mentioned on here, although there seemed to be mentioned several ordinary soldiers who also received both those medals.

Could some kind person please let me know if Henry could be mentioned on this site?

Regards
Caroline

What Mike is neglecting to say is that you need to pay for access to FMP in order to find the records.

Send me a PM (Private Message) with your e-mail address and I'll send them to you.
