Many Thanks Rory
I haven’t seen this particular document before and I have to say it’s got me all confused. I was under the impression that Westerman had died in S.A. but a check on freebmd seems to confirm the death in Bromsgrove. Can you telll me anymore about the document as it is from the S.A. Bank and stamped Capetown?. I’ve not come across any previous reference to Bromsgrove with him before.
Regards

a.

Attached are three photos by Westerman that were used as illustrations in the book 'With The Guards Brigade' by the Rev. E.P.Lowry
1. A Magerfontein Boer Trench.
2, The Broken Bridge at Modder River.
3. The Deviation Bridge at Modder River which Westerman helped to construct. The damaged bridge can be seen to the right.

Please ignore duplicated first photo
