Hello IL, Can you please check the Ceylon list (I believe page 31) and confirm if the following appear on it, and if there are others that I may have missed?
Sir Solomon Christoffel Obeyesekere
Mr E Rosling
Disawa William Dunuwile
Mr Tudor Dedrick Rajapakse
Lt.Col. E C Davies ISO VD
Lt.Col. Edwin James Hayward
Lt.Col. Thomas Yates Wright
Maj. Gordon Frazer
Col. A J Chalmers
Capt. H R H Van Cuylenberg
Sgt A E Van Buren

Col. T Y Wright was a Boer War veteran, serving with both Ceylon Contingents (invalided back from the first and re-joined in the second).

Thanks,
Charles

Dear IL,
Thank you very much for this info. So I guess the first 4 names in my list were civilian dignitaries representing the Ceylon Govt.

A. E. Van Buren mentioned in the roll was a member of the 2nd Ceylon Contingent to the Boer War.

If you don't mind, can you please email your name and location to [email protected] so I can include you in the Acknowledgements section in my (proposed) book?

I really appreciate the time you took to provide this info.

Regards,
Charles

I think David's site should be acknowledged as credited in this instance rather than an individual. I only passed the information on via this site.

Good morning IL,
How many Australians are listed? I don’t recall ever seeing a group of medals to an Australian including that Coronation medal.
Cheers,
Jim
