My Secondary Collection......

Missed out on 2 QSA's in the last week and missed today in another local auction of a Boxed Set in mint condition of Britain's from 1896...... Set Number 38, "Dr. Jameson and the African Mounted Infantry", went for a total of just over $2,200.00 Cdn...... Did get a single from set #43 "Camel Corps of the Egyptian Army".also from the period 1896, and a R.C.M.P. Boxed set from 1948....

Oh well another may come along......

I would imagine a set in mint condition must be very rare, Mike?

Any of the Boxed sets pre-1920's or 1930's in mint condition and never removed from the box are fairly rare as boys played with them at that time, now they are collectors items more than any thing else......

Frank......

I have been collecting them ever since I went to school in England in the early 1950's...... When I came back to Canada there was not as much access only one store here in Calgary sold them so my grand parents used to send me them and Dinkey Toys every year for Birthdays and Christmas...... So have built up quite a collection of both played with and still boxed soldiers, coaches, tanks and other pieces......

Mike

P.S. There was a nice Boer War Anniversary and CIV set put out.......

Thought you might like to see these...... They are the Boer War Naval Brigade's made by Britain's and by Jerry Finger in the US but sold through Tradition 33 Curzon Street London, if they are still there maybe you could check them out David and Frank.....
