Sorry to read this. I met Peter Digby at the Transvaal Scottish HQ years ago, and was given a guided tour of the museum. Also had occasional contact with him through the MMSSA. He was certainly a prominent figure in military history and medal circles in SA.
Regards
Arthur

Sad to hear.

Peter visited me several times in the days when he used to visit London regularly.
He was passionate about his subject (especially the Transvaal Scottish) and a fountain of knowledge.

During his time at Stephan Welz he was always incredibly helpful, and ensured that fragile items were, without fail, delivered to me safely.

He will be missed.

A name a I knew from the MMSSA.

I met him by chance once at an OMRS Convention when he was kind enough to introduce himself to me and compliment me on the Gazetteer.

Thank you for posting the note Mike. I knew Peter from when I still lived in South Africa and a member of the now defunct MMSSA. His book on the 1st SAI Brigade, is a valuable part of my library.
Regards

Gavin
