It is from the 1940 book "The Scottish Horse 1900-1940" by Katharine Marjory Murray (Duchess of Atholl). It shows a group of officers and sergeants prior to departure to SA, in early 1901. My question is - what is the uniform of the guy in the middle - why is it different? I would be very grateful for any ideas. RP
