Hello Martina,
Have you consulted From Crewe to The Cape Diary of a Railway Town During the Boer War by Mark Potts, Tony Marks and Howard Curran? This includes Henry Theirs on the medal roll of the Railway Volunteers. The book has numerous photos of the volunteer companies at home and in South Africa although Henry Theirs is not identified by name. His attestation papers are available on FMP from which I see he came from Ross near me in Herefordshire.

No, I didn't know that book, I'll search it to see If I can find a photo of Henry, or at least a photo of his company.

If you find something else, I use this website regularly now, so I'm always checking the forums.
