To have raised this concern, does this imply they had experiences problems with some parcels or was this merely precautionary?

I'd like to see the article telling the troops to stop posting pom pom rounds and dum dum bullets home!

That would be an interesting Army Order indeed!

I did find this rather defensive communication from the APO explaining the difficulties of their work.
