I was wondering how many members are attending the OMRS Convention in London next month. I know Mike is going to attend and I plan to be there too.

It would be a great opportunity to replace an avatar with a face and username with a name.

I will take my camera on the day and see if the dealers will allow me to post some images of their medals. It was great to read about the Durban show a few months ago.

I don't think I've been to an OMRS convention since 2000 but was thinking of going this year!

What are the medal fairs like in Australia?

We don't have anything like the fairs you have, and in fact nothing dedicated to medals. About 3 times a year there is an arms and militaria show, and there are usually about 3 to 5 medal dealers, and lots of gun dealers, swords etc. But very little chance of actually finding a QSA!

The OMRS conference in Canberra is 2 days of presentations, with no real bourse. It's good in that you get 6 to 8 presentations. There are about 30 people there so it's intimate. Overall I think it's very good and has more presentation content than the London one.

But all up we don't have 1% of the medal activity you have in the UK.

2016 is my year for a pilgrimage to OMRS London and to attend the DNW auction in person. Next year I am going to the USA so need to save for a few years!
