Thank you for posting an interesting receipt!
Forty years ago I had just started my first employment and if I remember correctly that would have been two weeks wages.
If only I had started then!

Around the same time as Henks invoice, I remember a little collectable shop on the Victoria Embankment (now renamed)in Durban, they had Town Guard QSA's at R5:00 to R10:00 each as they were "so common" and "not very collectable". Local and British units were around double that price.

My Dad used to buy my brother and myself British badges for around 20 to 30 cents each at the same shop. "Medals are far too expensive" was his favorite line! If only he had known what the future held. He is still alive and will be 90 in March next year.We had a chat about medals last week and he could not believe the prices being realised these days.
