Wreath-laying is every year on January 24th, 11am, at the regiment's South Africa War memorial in Whitehead Gardens, Bury; this was the 2012 ceremony, the 111th anniversary of the battle.

Berenice,

Nice photos, thanks.

Are these Lancashire Fusilier Veterans or just those with the primrose hackles? Some of these vets are now old and may not be able to carry out the ceremony for too many more year.
How come the "Royal Fusiliers" dont take over the duty? I see they are wearing Fusilier badges, not Lancashire Fusiliers.
I'm actually surprised they are allowed to carry the colours.

I don't really have any information on those taking part except that the wreath-laying was probably organised by the Lancashire Fusiliers Museum in Bury.
