I have KSA and QSA medals that I found in my late fathers effects that do not belong to the family ( as far as I know) - The medals were issued to CPL. W. West - # 1778 - Manchester Regiment.
The QSA clasps are: WITTEBERGEN, TRANSVAAL and CAPE COLONY , The KSA clasps are SOUTH AFRICA 1901 and SOUTH AFRICA 1902.
I wold like to see these medals returned to the family but will need to see irrefutable and indisputable evidence that they are going to the correct persons or family before I will hand them over.
I can be contacted at [email protected].

Walter West appears to have been born in Kiddlington in Oxfordshire, although his parents were living in Nelson up in Lancashire, at the point of his original discharge, he had had already seen service with the 1st Battalion Manchester Regiment, but like so many reservists, he had been recalled to the colours in 1900 and served with the 2nd Battalion during the Anglo Boer War.

Whilst it is a nice thing to actually want to return medals to particular families, it should be remembered that a great many of the same very deliberately disposed of them in the first place.
