As mentioned in my intro post, I have had no luck with known family members in locating the QSA medals (with three clasps for Paardeburg, Dreifontein and Cape Colony) for the following two relatives. 7650 Pte Frederick Thomas Jones and 7666 John Rochester Malin. They served with the RCR in the 2nd Canadian Special Service Force 1899-1900 and were from the 5th Royal Scots of Montreal Canada. Also missing is a group of 4 medals prior to the Anglo-Boer War belonging to Jones's father Frederick Alfred Jones. This rack of 4 contains a US Naval medal No. 2113 from the US Civil War with a G.A.R. Membership medal, a Canadian (British) General Service Medal for the two Fenian Raids and a Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long Service medal, the latter two which were issued to him as a member of the 1st Bn Prince of Wales Fusiliers of Montreal. This last group of 4 were probably in the possession of Frederick Thomas (Tom) Jones the son who, as I mentioned in my intro, was reportedly involved with reunions in Montreal of soldiers of the Boer war. They could have, for instance, been donated to a Legion for display. Any possible leads will be greatly appreciated.
