[A pencil note says '2 Officers, 2 Sergeants and 1 Private were granted (and issued) the King's Medal where service in 1902 has shown to be with this unit only']

The Peninsula Horse was formed from the Cape Peninsula Regiment. In January 1902 this unit was disbanded and two squadrons were selected and formed P and Q Special Service Squadrons, with No 2 Division Cape Colonial Forces.
