Since other Natal Rifle Associations were eligible for the QSA, I wonder why Durban was excluded?

I had the same thought as you. I haven't seen the muster roll for the Durban RA but guess this would have been one of the larger associations. The only factor I can think of is distance from the action. Presumably the RAs were 'called out' in the same way as the other Natal volunteers when the war started?
