Very quiet all day. Only news is a native rumour that Jan Cronje and his commando have been captured by our troops somewhere close to Vryburg,

It is wonderful how the health of the town is keeping so good when one considers the vile muck we are existing on but by all reports we are much better off than Ladysmith or Kimberley have been.

The proportion of admission to our hospital to date is about 12.5% of the whole garrison, including sickness, disease, and casualties. The natives certainly have suffered terribly, but still they are with us, hungry but defiant.
