....Durban, Oct. 8.—The Durban and Coast Volunteers were enthusiastically greeted on their way here. They marched into the town, which was profusely decorated with bunting. The streets were lined with spectators and immense enthusiasm prevailed. On the arrival of the troops at the Town-hall the Mayor addressed them and thanked them for their services. They had, he said, upheld the glory of the Empire, had faced dangers cheerfully, and had been praised by England's greatest generals. Commandant Morris, on behalf of the Regulars, eulogized the services rendered by the Volunteers, and Col. Evans, of the Natal Mounted Rifles, returned thanks.
