Everybody down at the staff office seem very busy today; they have had some news in but will not divulge a word.

B.P. on the look-out all day and nearly always with his field-glasses pointing south. There is a sort of uncanny air about the place today as if something unexplained was going to happen. Cannot sit down to write so am going to mooch about and try and get some news.
