R.O. 190a – 25-03-1900

Officer of the day for tomorrow, Lieutenant Winters, R.C.R., next for duty Lieutenant Bliss, attached.

R.O. 191 – 25-03-1900

Until further orders Lieutenant Snyder, Transport Officer with Transport Sergeant and Men will have sole charge of the Transport Horses and will be responsible for the feeding and cleaning of the same.

Sergeant Alison will be exempt from all other duties.

R.O. 192 – 25-03-1900

Until further orders three troops per day and three troops per night will be mounted for stable duty with Troop Officers in charge.

Squadron Commanders will take their turn with their Captains as Officers in Charge of stables daily.

The senior officer in charge of stables will be responsible that all stable duties are correctly carried out.

One Sergeant Major will take duty from 5 am till midnight daily, attending all feed hours. Three Farrier-Sergeants, three Shoeing-Smith Corporals and three Shoeing-Smiths will attend at feed time between the hours of 5 am and 8 pm.

Officers in charge of troops for stable duty must tell their N.C.O.’s and Men in parties giving them the number of horses they are to look after before marching them off the general parade.

The attention of all ranks is called to the urgent necessity of making every endeavour to build up the strength of the horses during the present fine weather.

The following is the detail for stable duties by Troops :-

One Troop for duty with horses on upper deck.

One Troop for duty from bow of ship to No. 76 stall, inclusive on port side, and to No. 408 stall inclusive on the starboard side, including all center horses.

One Troop from No. 409 to stern on starboard side and from stall A.10 to the stern on port side including center horses.

R.O. 193 – 25-03-1900

Until further orders Lieutenant Benyon will take charge of 4 Troop “A” Squadron vice Lieutenant Ketchen on Regimental Staff Duty.

R.O. 194 – 25-03-1900

The detail for stable duty is as follows :-

Mounting 8 pm today Captain Howard in charge – Troops 2 and 3 “A” Squadron and Troop 1 “B” Squadron.

Mounting 8 am 26th inst. Major Snyder, Commanding, 4 Troop “A” Squadron, 2 and 3 Troops “B” Squadron.

Mounting 8 pm 26th inst. Captain Cameron in command, 5 Troop “B” Squadron, and 1 and 2 Troops “C” Squadron.

R.O. 195 – 25-03-1900

A board of Officers of the following detail will assemble tomorrow and report on the loss of the following horses. Horse Regimental No. 72, 310, 177 and 359 reported dead on 24th inst. Horse Regimental No.157 reported dead on the 25th inst. President, Captain Cameron, Members Lieutenant White-Fraser, Lieutenant Laidlaw.

R.O. 196 – 25-03-1900

Until further orders all N.C.O.’s and Men not on duty will parade for bathing at 6:15 a.m. daily weather permitting, Troop Officers will be in charge and will see that N.C.O.’s and men not on duty are present.
