In future horses will be watered from the pails provided for this purpose. One pail to each horse will be supplied which is to be numbered corresponding to the Regimental Number of the horse for whose use it is.
The greatest care must be used that no horse drinks from a pail provided for the use of another as it may tend to increase the epidemic of glanders now affecting the horses. This is a most serious matter and no possible excuse will be allowed for any man using a pail for a horse other than provided it for it. Ver severe punishment will be metted out to an infringer of this order. All pails that have hitherto been in use must be at once returned into the Q- Master's stores. All nose bags to be collected immediately and returned into the Q-Master's stores, horses will be fed from the ground until further nose bags can be provided.
